Simon Milroy

Australian national, 52, appointed as the Vice President Director in July 2020. He is a Mining Engineer with broad range of expertise and experience in exploration, development, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and government relations in the mining industry for over 30 years. He rose from being a Mining Engineer and Senior Mining Engineer responsible for mine planning, design and operations at various mining companies in Australia (1992-1998); to being a Mining Manager in Thailand responsible for implementing modern mining planning and methods to a zinc mine (1999-2001) and active management of the construction, commissioning and operations of a rural gold mine (2001-2004); Project Development and Country Manager of a copper and gold project, involving heap leaching, in rural Laos (2004-2007); Managing Director and CEO of a listed Australian mineral resources company, mainly responsible for corporate funding involving capital raisings, placements, share purchases and rights issues (2007-2016); General Manager of Corporate Development and Exploration of an Australian copper and gold producer with producing assets in Laos and pre-development opportunities in Papua New Guinea, Myanmar and Chile, with responsibilities over exploration, operations, mergers and acquisitions, government relations and corporate communications (2016-2019).

Simon’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from the University of South Australia (1988), First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
